When you have heating oil delivered to your house, normally you have two options when it comes to scheduling: to call in when you want oil, or to be put on an automatic delivery list. At Grady Mech, you can choose between the two, but your best bet is to be on automatic delivery.
As a call in customer, you are completely responsible for calling into Grady Mechanical to order oil and to give us up to 48 hours to deliver to you. This involves a lot of vigilance on your part. In addition, our minimum delivery amount is 100 gallons and if you are over-vigilant and order oil and your tank is full before 100 gallons is delivered, we are forced to charge you a $40 surcharge on that delivery. With everything that goes on in your life, paying attention to the level in your oil tank is a hassle and running yourself out of oil is a cold, painful reminder.
Automatic delivery, however, is worry-free. Our office tracks the mean temperature with a system known as Degree Days. Essentially, we track the degree days (explained in detail here) and based on how much oil you take in between deliveries can approximate when your tank is a quarter full based on the rate you burn per degree day. When that level is reached, you are put on our routes for delivery. You never have to worry.
The one benefit to being a call in customer is that you can control how much oil you get and, in the process, control your bills during the winter. However, Grady Mechanical offers very convenient budget plans that allow you to approximate usage and payments over a 10-month span! It couldn’t be easier.
When you sign up as a customer, you will be asked your preference. If you are already a call-in customer, call today to get rid of the hassle of having to check your tank and worry about ordering oil.
